Your Inner Voice
Do you hear it?
Your inner voice, that is.
You might call it your intuition, your gut feeling, or an inner knowing. Your inner voice is that internal knowing, the small nudge inside you, the guidance that comes when you quiet your mind and listen.
Have you ever been in a situation where you are looking for an answer and you suddenly “hear” that answer in your head? That’s your true inner voice speaking up! This inner knowledge is an indispensable source of guidance and feedback.
Sometimes, it can feel like we are getting input from multiple sources in our own head, and this can make it difficult to discern our true inner voice. We all have our inner critic who likes to speak up when we are doubting ourselves, and this voice can be loud! But this is not your *true* inner voice. Your true inner voice is not one that fills you with doubt, guilt, or shame.
So, how can you ensure you’re listening to your true inner voice?
- Make space– Oftentimes, we can’t hear our true inner voice because there is no space for it to come through! Meditating is a great way to create a quiet space to hear your inner voice. Adding mindful moments to your day can allow you to hear what your inner voice is trying to tell you.
- Be willing– Simply being willing to listen to your inner voice can be helpful! Setting an intention to listen to your inner voice may be the nudge you need to stop and pay attention when it comes through.
- Pause for a breath– Taking a mindful pause can be very helpful. If you’re feeling overwhelmed and unsure what to do next, take a moment to breathe. This mindful pause can quiet your mind and allow your inner voice the time and space to make itself known.
- Ask!– Asking yourself for clarity invites your true inner voice to become a participant in your life. You need to be willing to be receptive and listen to what type of inner feedback you are getting.
Your true inner voice is a great guide and asset in your life! Learning to listen to your true inner voice can help you to show up as the best version of you and to live your best life. It might appear easier to seek outside guidance, but developing a relationship with yourself will gift you with confidence, understanding, and encouragement.
You have the power to allow your true inner voice to reveal itself. Allow it to lift you up and tune into your highest self!
