The Power of Trusting Yourself

How many times in your life have you felt an “inner knowing” or a “gut instinct”? In most cases, people talk about this in the terms of knowing when not to do something, mostly because this is something we can all relate to. 

When you know that something is wrong or unsafe your body will tell you. You may get the chills, your stomach may be in knots, or your heart may begin to race. Even if you can’t fully explain why you feel this way, you just know. That’s your intuition talking to you.

Today, I want to talk about how to trust your gut in terms of knowing when TO do something rather than when NOT to. Learning how to do this is the first step towards living in alignment. 

How to Trust Yourself

Trusting yourself requires focusing inward and shining a light on your core values and what is truly important to you. 

The first step in building self-trust is to reconnect with yourself and get really clear on what you want and need. One powerful way to tap into your internal compass is through journaling. Making time for self-reflection can help a great deal in gaining more clarity about what matters most to you in your life. 

Once you have gained clarity, you can begin taking steps to build your confidence and be your own authority.  A few ways to build your confidence include, practicing self-care, positive affirmations, meditation, and setting healthy boundaries. 

From there, practice making decisions that are in alignment with your core values and your needs as often as possible.  Over time, you will notice your self-confidence building which will help strengthen your self-trust.

The power of trusting yourself results in a deeper and fuller life experience. When you commit to trusting yourself you find that life simply works out in your favor  because your actual desires are being met. 

Your relationships deepen, you feel more confident, you are genuinely happier and you live in a state of abundance and gratitude in all aspects of your life. This is what it feels like to live in alignment.
