Personal Power

What comes to mind when you hear the word “power”?

Do you think of strength? Of influence and authority? Many people do! Power is the ability to influence the behavior of others or the course of events. But you don’t have to go on a power trip to step into your own personal power!

Many women are taught to fear power or to not be perceived as too powerful. But there’s no reason to be fearful or ashamed of stepping into your power. Doing so not only allows you to own your competence, vision, and desires, but it also enables you to realize the impact you can have on others and act accordingly.

Personal power is the type of power that inspires others and encourages them to rise to their fullest potential and is gradually acquired throughout your life. This is more of a state of mind with a goal of mastery of self; we aren’t looking to control others when we are developing our own personal power.

By striving to develop your personal power, you are equipping yourself with the ability to handle difficult situations and build a more fulfilling and joyful life!

There are many different ways to prioritize owning your personal power. No one can give it to you, but that doesn’t mean it’s out of your reach.

Some ideas include:

  • Openly declaring your dreams and desires and making plans to bring them to life.
  • Developing positive affirmations and kicking the negative self-talk to the curb! Share your opinions and ideas. The world needs them!
  • Connect with like-minded individuals and engage in a supportive community.
  • Practice self-care. How can you fill your cup today?

Getting comfortable with your personal power is a gift you give not only to yourself but to those around you! Your natural strength and self-confidence are some of your best assets, so allow them to inspire others to tap into their own abilities!

Having a strong grasp of your personal power will lead to a more satisfying life as you become more in tune with who you are and what you want from life.

Personal power begins with a belief in yourself. And when you are struggling with believing in yourself find a mentor or a coach who sees your potential and helps you step into that belief. I’m always here for you!

What type of changes have you seen as you begin to embrace your personal power?
